Bannock bread was made by our ancestors when on the trail. Try throwing in blueberries or raisins for added flavor.
This is a Native American or First Nations in Canada bread, been around for hundreds of years.
Organic Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups water
¼ cup butter, melted.
Directions
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Pour water and melted butter over flour mixture. Stir with a fork to make a ball.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently about 10 times. Pat into a flat circle(like biscuit size though) 3/4- to 1-inch thick.
Warm greased pan to medium heat
Cook for 15 minutes on each side (it takes less time to just flip when it reaches the desired color)
Eat as is or slice and add butter, jam or any toppings you like. #ThrowbackThursday
