Air Fryer Onion Rings

Ingredients:
- 2 large onions, sliced into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
Cooking spray or oil mister
Instructions:
- Prep the Onions:
- Peel and slice the onions into rings, separating the layers. Discard the smallest inner rings as they might not cook evenly.
- Set Up Coating Station:
- In one bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, place the beaten eggs.
- In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
- Coat the Onion Rings:
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Then dip the ring into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off.
- Finally, coat the ring in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Place the coated ring on a plate or tray.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Onion Rings:
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or use an oil mister to coat the onion rings.
- Place the coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch or overlap.
- Cook the onion rings in batches if needed.
- Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, flipping the rings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the onion rings are cooked to your desired crispiness, carefully remove them from the air fryer and place them on a serving plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve the onion rings immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, ranch dressing, or aioli.
